My Doctor
I lay on the table, thriving in pain! I was going to die, I was sure of it! He'd be in soon, for I didn't have long to wait, but I would not make it long enough to see his beautiful face! The only thing I could expect now was either the sign of death's approach, or the act of going insane! You see, my heart was taring, no doubt I was very sick! The fever was all too high, and everything seemed to be happening at a distance, like I was watching a drama or romance!
The enjury itself was much less painful; all it was worth happened almost instantaneous! All he had to do was pull, and the part of my heart which was necessary to live would tare, and he could take it forever! I knew there was no hope, except this rare surgery, which was of course, quite risky! And my doctor had no doctorate in these matters! He was not certified to give any type of medications to me! He said it would only be a bit of guess work, and insisted I should not go for it! But I was dying, and it was necessary, and I was sure he would not watch me die in front of his marvelous eyes!
So he entered, and the pain increased! He began to touch my head with his gloved hand: the fever was burning under his protection. I heard him tell me to "fight", and then death rose upon me like an oncoming storm.
And so he began to work:
He got his tools out, nervous about what he was about to do, with little to no knowledge of what it really was he would do, but he would revive me at all costs!
So these were the tools he used:
an indistinct dose of encouragement to ease the pain,
Some tape to mend the missing peace, (it would mend eventually)
A natural note of music that would allow me to revive once again,
And dozens of delicious doses of his invaluable qualities!
I was mostly unaware of it all, but somehow, I knew what my doctor was doing. He was curing me, and soon i would come back!
Only there was no hope! I felt nothing. I was dying, he was crying, and the only thing I had to hold on to was death's endless curses!
But something happened: something quite sudden and unexpected. A sharp stab of pain came back into my heart when he left, giving up on me! After all, he had no education, he knew he shouldn't have tried!
And then nothingness again, would I live?
And then I felt his arms! He was giving me pills, trying to bring the fever down! I heard his voice, and the pain increased once again! It would never be over!
And then it was! The surgery was finished, and I was numb, due to the medication! But when I looked around the room, all I saw was a coffin, with his body inside! He could not fix my heart, and so he gave me his life!
